The Ellwood Volunteer Fire Company No 1 is comprised of two offices - The Firematic office and the Administrative office

The 2008 Firematic Officers

The Ellwood Firematic Officers are responsible at all emergency incidents to which Ellwood responds.  They have been trained to handle all types of situations to insure that Ellwood residents receive the best coverage at all times.  

The Firematic Officers are responsible for training the other firefighters at Ellwood.  Drills are conducted most Wednesdays and Saturdays during the year.  Drills are varied to insure that the members are trained in all aspects of firefighting - from driving trucks to rescuing a victim.   

The 2008 Administrative Officers

The administrative organization is where all members have a voice in how Ellwood functions.  It sets the rules for membership and determines the functions that Ellwood members will participate. 

The members get together at a monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30PM to discuss and decide upon the activities that Ellwood will be involved in.  

Ellwood also sponsors sports teams for its members.  Most recently Ellwood has fielded a member's hockey team in one of the Town of Tonawanda leagues.  3 Golf teams are also sponsored in the Town Firemen and Police Golf League.  2 teams from Ellwood also participate in the Town of Tonawanda Firemen's Bowling league.

The Administrative Officers listed above are responsible for insuring that the organization is run properly with all proper financial accounting being performed.  Member's records for participation are reviewed regularly to insure that all members meet their obligation to the organization.

Benevolence Organizations

Ellwood has two organizations that exist to help support the members.  The Ellwood Exempts Association meets the second Tuesday of each month.  This organization is open to all members who have served 10 years of active service at Ellwood.  Gary Magaris is the President for 2008.

The Ellwood Benevolence Association trustees meet every other month and assist Ellwood members with their good and welfare.  

Ellwood Fire Company Auxiliary

The 2007 Auxiliary Officers

The Ellwood Auxiliary is an organization of spouses and siblings of current of previous active Ellwood firefighters.  They respond in times of major alarms of fire with nourishment to aid the firefighters.

The members meet the first Monday of each month to discuss their responsibilities to the Fire Company and to discuss and act on other community activities that they decide upon.
